Crock Pot Swedish Cabbage Rolls

"This is an easy to prepare slow-cooker meal. Delicious and filling it is meaty and with sufficient vegetables to give one that really satisfied feeling. Prepare it the evening before and refrigerate, then slip it into the Crock pot when leaving for work the next morning. Yum it’s soooooo good!"

  1. Neither of us are big cabbage fans. I had a head of Napa cabbage from our CSA so decided to use it rather than regular green cabbage. We both enjoyed it and it will be a repeat, but I think only with the Napa cabbage as I found it easier to handle, stuff and roll and lighter in taste. I didn't consider them "swedish" just appreciated the good flavor. Thank you for the great recipe.

  2. I have never made stuffed cabbage before..I found this recipe & chose because of easiness and sounding so good. When hubby & I walked in the door...oh that smell of stuffed cabbage cooking! I haven't smelt that in 20 yrs plus! Husband said"It's like walking in my Grandma's house" :) When we finally sat down to have dinner, oooohhhhhh they were delicious!!! He said 2nd best to my Grandma's...Noone can make dishes ( for the most part) as good as Grandma! It was the best compliment a wife can get..Try this recipe and Im sure you will get compliments like me!

  4. I made this as another one of my choices for PAC. Turned out great and I love it that I put them in the cp and didnt have to do much work. They are different from cabbage rolls I am used to, but good.

I'm a retired American Government employee (law enforcement), now living in the Philippines. I'm an artist painting in oil on canvas, landscapes, seascapes, wildlife and florals. I paint all kinds of birds, animals, beautiful sunsets, sunrises, mountains, flowers, trees , beautiful nudes, street scenes and what ever else pleases me. I recently completed a series of paintings of old Spanish Catholic Churches, some of them dating back to 300 years. I have posted pictures a few of my works here on this site but only the ones that I have given to friends, I don’t publish pictures of sold paintings. My paintings are shipped to my Agent in the States for sales. I spend a lot of time traveling around the Philippines in search of beautiful scenes to paint . I love to paint “en plein air” ( out in the open air) and of course the scenery is beautiful as well as plentiful. The women of this tropical paradise are slim, trim with natural tans, are absolutely gorgeous and make great painting subjects. I love to cook American dishes for my Filipino friends who really do love them. I have learned to cook many delicious Filipino dishes mostly from my Filipino Mother-in Law who lives with us. I have taught her to prepare many American Dishes and she is an expert cook. Most American foods cannot be purchased here and some ingredients are impossible to find so my Sister ships to me what I cannot purchase here. My Filipino Mother-in- Law learned to make delicious patty sausage from scratch which is mostly used for sausage gravy which I love with biscuits. I make great light and fluffy biscuits from scratch, Bisquick is not available here.
