Excellent with fresh peaches. In addition to the teaspoon of vanilla, I added a teaspoon of almond extract. This is much better than the type of cobbler which has a batter mixed up and placed beneath the fruit in which case the dough absorbs all of the juice (which ruins a fruit pie IMHO). This one takes more time but is definitely worth it.

I did this with apple and just dolloped the top over the apple, as no time to do the lattice !! It was a fantastic dessert, served with pouring cream. I have never done a cobbler like this and I just loved it and can only imagine how good it is with fresh peaches.

Sign in or create an accountLooks like Mama's recipe. I have to try it. We have a new produce market on the way into town. Very near me. I purchased some S Carolina peaches there this afternoon. They are so sweet and delicious. Not being disloyal to GA my state. But those are great peaches. I will get some more and make your Mom' s cobbler. N GA cook

My mother used to make this cobbler. It's my favorite recipe for using fresh peaches (and I have made it with frozen). I'm glad to see it posted. It takes a little more work than some cobbler recipes, but it's well worth the time.
