I had to play with this recipe quite a bit, but we were very happy with the outcome. First, I had to double the recipe since I didn't have an 8x8 pan :) I used 2 small nectarines, 1 big purple plum and 3 small red plums. I did NOT double the sugar in the fruit, using only 3/4 c. I added nutmeg into the fruit, and a cup of pecans as well. The nuts didn't spread evenly, so next time I'll sprinkle them on top. I had to leave this in the oven for an extra 10 minutes, and should have left it in even longer. I also suspect my baking powder is dead. Regardless, this was a delicious way to present stone fruit, and we'll do this again soon
DELICIOUS and worth another 5 stars! It was very, very easy and my family loved it! I used 1-1/2 times the batter recipe, used 6 medium peaches, only 1/4 cup butter, and used a 7x11-inch 2-quart casserole and baked about 1 hour because I had increased the recipe. The cobbler crust/dough was very nice and light and the peaches were perfectly done. I did add 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, but otherwise followed the recipe as given. I will be using this for many different types of fruit cobblers as the seasons change. Thanks for a wonderful recipe.
Great! I used 6 cups of peaches and felt I should have used more. Don't get me way, it tasted great, but more fresh peaches would have brightened up the dish. I cut the butter back by 2 tbsp and that was fine. Thanks for a great recipe!
I made this for company and they loved it. Not a bite left! And it was so easy to make. I will be making this again and again.
Wonderful! I used 3 medium peaches and probably use add a 4th if I had it to do again. Wonderful flavor and simple too!
DELICIOUS!!! I love peach cobbler and this one fits the bill. I served it warm with vanilla bean ice cream. We will make this numerous times as we all loved it. Thank you for posting this oh so good treat.
Great cobbler and one you can use many kinds of fruit in! I tried this with apples, peaches and blueberries so far. A winner every time!
This has earned a permanent spot in my recipe files. I used frozen peaches and just thawed them out and drained the extra juice before using. Turned out fabulous!
This is the second time I'm making this recipe and am having to double it because it was eaten way too fast the first time around! We love the flavorful crust, but added more peaches to the cobbler ... just our personal preferances. We also used allspice instead of nutmeg with great results. It was all we had on hand. Thanks!
